Focused on Comprehensive Care

From prevention to assessing and providing restorative, cosmetic or specialized treatments, our dental practice is here to take care of you.

We take tremendous care in providing the best treatment plan for each of our patients. This begins with a comprehensive examination and thorough explanations of treatment options including any cosmetic and restorative needs, time involved, and financial considerations. With our dental practice, you will be in the hands of an attentive, highly-skilled team that genuinely cares about your well-being.

Preventive Care

Comprehensive Exams • Oral Cancer Screenings • Dental Cleanings • Salivary Testing (for common bacteria the leads to periodontal and heart disease)

Preventive dental care is the foundation of our practice.  Preventive practices are tailored to each unique individual which not only keeps your gums and teeth healthy, but also promotes overall general health.

Dr. Lopez and her highly skilled team of dental hygienists will provide you with regular dental cleanings that are customized to your specific needs in order to avert common dental problems such as cavities and gum disease.

Regular examinations will also be done by Dr. Lopez in order to identify any issues as they arise and before they become critical problems requiring invasive treatment.

Restorative Therapies

Composite (tooth-colored) fillings • Crown and bridge work with master ceramists • Implant restorations • Laser dentistry • Bioesthetic therapy • Clear style orthodontics/braces • Certified safe amalgam removal

Dr. Lopez utilizes a clinical microscope to achieve extreme attention to detail.  The microscope can enlarge the working field up to 20x that of naked vision.  This gives the ability to better see all defects in the teeth and gums and allows us to provide the highest quality of dental restorations.

Among the technologies Dr Lopez has invested in is a Fotona dental laser because it helps to deliver safe, high quality care both to the teeth and soft tissues.  It also eliminates the traditional sights, smells and sounds of traditional rotary instruments.  In fact, it is so comfortable that in some situations the need for anesthetic is not necessary.

Dr. Lopez also uses a digital scanner in place of traditional impressions which provides extremely accurate representations of your teeth.

Aesthetic Dentistry

Veneers • Porcelain crowns • Composite bonding • Teeth whitening • Clear style orthodontics/braces • Bioesthetic Dentistry

Your smile is one of your most important, noticeable features.  It is probably the first thing others notice about you.  We provide cosmetic options, both large and small, to help keep your smile looking its best.  Cosmetic services include veneers, which are the most conservative porcelain option for improving the aesthetics of teeth, porcelain crowns and layered composite bonding.  We use master ceramists who are highly focused in achieving natural and beautiful results.

Because we are highly focused on individualized care and overall health, it is extremely important to us that you are involved in deciding the treatment plan that is best for you.  At times this may be a comprehensive plan to treat many dental concerns, or you may prefer to focus on one concern.  This is always your decision.

Specialized Care:
TMJ Pain, Sleep Apnea and Airway Issues

Trained in bioesthetic practices, Dr. Lopez applies its guiding principles to help her
patients resolve issues and restore their overall health and oral stability.

About Bioesthetic Dentistry

Bioesthetic dentistry is a philosophy of restorative dentistry based on the model of health found in nature. Parameters were established in the 1970s based on a thorough study of patients with no decay, no gum disease, and no problems with their bite or jaw joint.  Based on the findings, a set of restorative guidelines was developed based on ideal natural systems.

The shape and function of bioesthetic restorations are based on ideal natural systems, as a result the restorations are more likely to look and feel great.  Restorations are done after achieving TMJ comfort and stability, and are more likely to last significantly longer than traditional methods. This approach can be used when you have a minor breakdown in your chewing system and also for those who have had a more significant deterioration of their oral system.

Treating TMJ

TMJ pain and headaches are often multifaceted.  You may also be aware of clenching and grinding your teeth at night.  After a thorough examination, Dr Lopez will decide with you the best options for treatment.  These may include the fabrication of a night guard or a more comprehensive approach to determine the root cause of the pain.

Treating Airway Issues  (Sleep Apnea and Snoring)

Your mouth, nose and throat are all intricately connected and must work in harmony for proper airflow. While many people don’t have any issues with breathing during the day, they can suffer from an often undiagnosed condition called obstructive sleep apnea at night.  Others may experience issues such as chronic clenching and grinding or a TMJ disorder that can lead to negative oral health impacts.

Dr. Lopez will discuss your symptoms with you and may refer you to a sleep medicine physician.  There are several options for treatment, with cPap therapy being the gold standard. There are also custom-made intraoral sleep apnea devices that are FDA-approved for the treatment of mild to moderate sleep apnea and are designed to keep your airway open while you sleep at night to prevent the collapse of tissues that obstructs your breathing.

Another potential adjunct therapy for sleep apnea and snoring is laser therapy with a Fotona laser.  NightLase reduces the effects of sleep apnea and decreases the amplitude of snoring by means of a gentle, laser-induced tightening effect caused by the contraction of collagen in the oral mucosa tissue.
